FAIR TRADE FASHION.  What does that mean to you?

This week we sit down with Zoe Schumm, a fashion designer using her design skills and business sense to create social change.  Zoe believes that fair trade is more than just a company policy or practice.  She believes that fair trade fashion should empower artisans to hone their craft and change their lives. Zoe founded the women’s clothing brand 4 All Humanity with her husband in 2012.  Zoe seeks out artisan communities, connect them to the global market, and provide technical assistance to help their small business grow.

Zoe talks about how her journey to start her own fashion brand at a young age, and how her knowledge of supply chains inspired her social mission.  She shares about overcoming obstacles of working in developing countries as well as her greatest accomplishments impacting the lives of both artisans and students in developing countries.

Zoe also breaks down the main issue with fashion industry only caring about the end consumer and not caring about the producers of the product.  4 All Humanity shifts that focus and creates equal emphasis on both quality end products as well as the quality of life for those producing their products.  This philosophy is what separates them as a social venture.
